thanks for your feed back.
yea when u get a new mod on your car you can re map it but is it the same as remapping your ecu or is there more bhp to be gained by having a unichip

remap is remaping the std ecu so is best, dastek is a unit that intercepts signals from the ecu and sensors and changes them to suit, technically they both do simular things, the advantage of the remap is you can change anything, the dastek you are limited but it changes the most important things (apart from rev limit on some models) the unichip you can remove and you have a standard car, the remap you cant and cannot put your car back to standard witout a £400 remap.

thanks ratty i understand now so best just to go for the ecu re-map.can get it done in the blackpool area for £275 which i thought was cheap myself.

as long as its a remap and not a superchip or star/bbchip etc, make sure your getting the ecu remaped etc as the only person im aware that can do it is Wayne Scofield.

yea it is definatly a re map it is a company call motor sport development they are always in fast ford with some great cars. its £275 for a re map but dont no what cams it is running so is got to be custom re map which is £375 but still not a bad price

every remap is a custom remap, that's the whole point of having it done ie the ecu is reprogrammed to suit your specific car and it's modifications. i have heard loads of very good things about MSD though, i'm guessing the two prices you've been quoted are for a pre-written chip (the cheaper one) and a live-mapping session (which MSD are renowned for in ford circles for doing very well).
