i am looking to remove a 96 vtr lump and put another vtr engine in it will the year of the engine matter ? are the chassis the same and what is the difference between mk 1 and mk 2 models .will i have any trouble with imobillisers or keys thanks Ryan :y:

As far as I am aware, aslong as you keep the same ecu and loom etc... you wont need to change the keys etc.
You will want an engine from a MK1, as that is easier. The later models have slightly different wiring so stuff needs changing

the mk2 vtr engine has a 3 plug ecu iirc so if you've got a mk1 you'll need the single plug ecu engine or the wireing will have to be changed

Keep to a single plug mk1 vtr engine mate, there would be quite a lot to change to swap to a 3 plug like fuel lines etc...
