Any engine light on?

Most commonly its the throttle body and sensors thats all gunked up. Take it off and give it all a good clean and give it a go. Give the ECU a reset whilst you do it by disconnecting the battery for an hour so the ECU "relearns" the sensors.
Throttle body is located at the end of the black box at the back of the engine bay with the 16v on :)

Other then that it could be the coil pack?

And paticular time it does it? Ie when the car is hot or cold etc

Sounds like a problem that i had with mine.
Changed the idle control valve, has been fine since.
Thanks

I would say the idle control valve could do with replacing from what I've seen in other threads need to do mine as I getthe same problems also cuts out randomly too
