I'm quite looking forward to the Nissan GT-R. Was awesome in prologue.

Im loving it.
Not dissapointed too much after all the delays. The bouncing off walls still isnt great and the AI isnt perfect but has improved from previous games.

Graphics, even on my older rear projection tv, are awesome. The wing mirror on my car vibrates while im driving at high speed.

Similar in terms of layout to GT4 so no trouble finding things.

New additions are pretty cool, karts are very realistic in the way they handle, you can see your drivers foot revving it on the start line too.

Replays look great, very high quality.

You can only sit in certain cars. Think its the ones you can buy from the dealership. So about 200.

The other 800 you can get are just standard cars. These are the ones they havent taken the time to go into as much detail. If they then it would still be in development.

Go on gt4 on the ps2 then come back and play this and tell me the graphics are the same!

i like it! love how they have gone into more detail when "modding" cars, like now you can change the cat converter, inlet mani, and exhaust mani aswell! havent seen after market brakes though..........

i played gt5 earlier........ some of the graphics are amazing, textures are ps1/2 standard...... handlings mediocre, menu interfaces are shit...... everything else is 'ok'....... game is way worse than whatt it should be.... thank fuck i never bought it.

tbh i think overall its not to bad, i do like it infact... it does run slow but i havent installed the 8gb of tracks and cars as i only have 4gb space left, but i am going to upgrade the hard drive tomorrow so it should cure that. i have played forza and i would say the handling is alot more realistic in that, but i think gt5 is still class.

Handling is much more realistic than forza, the sounds are much better, some track look ok but others look amazing the ring for example is unbelievable. Modding is better, yes you cant change wheels or custom paint etc but this is a driving sim where as forza is not its a racing game.

Overall I think its a good single player game as online seems to need a bit of work to get into a room etc and also cant find the ring?

this 8gb of download... where do i find that? i had to do an update from the disc the 1st time i played the game but downloaded nothing else. took no more than 5 minutes.

also not being able to sit inside all the cars sucks. i thought this was why it was held back so long. id give it 6/10 after 2 hours playing it.

I was similar to Aly + Adsayer, got a slim ps3 just under a year ago I reckon. Only have two games for it and they were bought cause they were on offer (GTA 4 at £10 and COD MW2 at £20). Been ooking forward to this, but havent even completed Gran Turismo 5 so think i'll wait till the fuss dies down and get it when its cheaper.

Im a big forza fan but this is a totally different type of game forza is more pick up and play arcadey whereas this has licences and everything to do first so people are put off by the time it takes to get into it.

After playing a bit more this evening...

If I had an xbox and forza - I wouldn't go buy a ps3 just for this game.
However - if I had a ps3 already, this game is a must and worth all £37!

Im really liking it atm, If I want to play online or have a quick race then forza is it but for realism and looks this wins hands down, and as its only been out for a couple of days the issues will be worked out.

For those put off by the incar or lack of in all cars, look at it this way. Games like shift have around 50 cars, not in as much detail. GT5 has 200 highly detailed cars that you can go in, plus the 800 others.

They are planning updates to help with any problems. Also to add more and more cars.
I believe they are going to take time on new cars and put them as premium ones so you can go incar.

Sounds arent as bad as I was expecting. Obviously they arent all going to be perfect.
If you watch a replay you can hear the sounds properly, which is where the work has gone in, the car drives towards you and you hear the engine noise loudest, as it passes this switches to exhaust noise.
Very good, incar the sounds are muffled and you hear a combo of exhaust and engine noise. I think a lot of people are mistaking this for being the wrong sound for the car as expecting just exhaust noise.

The handling is very much improved, actually requires you to control the cars properly.
Fwd cars tend to understeer, the civic and swift i have do anyway. Also as you increase power handling reacts to that too.

Been waiting for this game for 6 years, even defected to xbox while I waited, which now sits in a cupboard.
SO far would give it a 8/10. Its never going to be perfect but its by far the best game of its type on the market.

After playing the game for a while i'm mixed on it now some parts are great (Karting) and some parts are not so good (Loading times and No brake upgrades WTF). But its still a great game just hope some updates come out soon for the loading times as its a killer. (Yes i have installed the 8gb's of data).

As for damage it gets worse the higher level you are.

you cant upgrade the brakes but you can adjust the ones you have on the car, which im happy with :)

Tracks may take 30-60 secs to load but nothing longer.

For the people who think the engine sounds are crap, have you noticed that as you change views whilst driving the noise changes. Basically on front views you hear the engine and rear views you hear the exhaust. If your sat in the car then you hear a combination of both, not great in this view if im honest but not far from reality. I think its 7/10 for sounds imo

I bought a Golf R32 last night but colour wasnt right so bought a 14k unknown car in a kinda deep blue pearl colour, its actually a perfect match

Soon as you buy a car with a certain colour its in your pain shop so you can respray any of your cars them colours

i got the elise one first time in 1st, i must be lucky lol

Yeah wheel is a must for nascar ones i did it pretty much straight away

The special licences are all a lap race round the track where you have to get past cars by late breaking and drafting, i got 8 bronze and 2 silver in them

The vw camper vans are harder though lol

too many good cars are missing. im sick of the shite engine sounds, too many glitches in the game, and the handling is a joke. try the lotus on top gear track. nascar is shit. best thing about the game is the karting.

yes 2 and 3 love them. i also used to play grid a lot.

used to love granny-t but this is such a let down for me. driving the slow crappy cars drives me nuts.

I haven't got one yet. But it has to be smoother, more accurate and true to life. And thats what a driving simulator is all about.

Plus All the best drivers online have wheels.

its not fun to play, load times, sounds, computer driven cars. how frustrating if you bump another car from the rear and they stick to you! it feels like half the game it should be.

the rallying is utter shite waiting every time watching 3 other cars drive off. the loeb challenge is rear impossible to get bronze. karting was good tho! id buy a karting game it it had more to it.

106 GTI is called 106 S16 in the used dealership. Its the closest you'll get to vts. You have to keep checking back for it.

Bought an EK9 first and did everything possible with it, then got into the 3rd set of events and did the Supercar races with the EK9.. Came 1st in one of them, 2nd in the other, and even came 3rd in the super speedway oval course by slipstreaming them

Bugatti Veyron, Zonda, Mclaren F1 etc all in the same race with an EK9 pushing them hard LOL, saved the reply cos it's fucking quality to watch an EK9 battling away with supercars

VTEC > Mclaren F1

The top gear test track was a wank, the first one with the campers was boring so slow, then the 2nd one with the Elise i nearly lost the head...fucking dunger of a car on that course it's like driving on a skid pan, and the fags infront going slow on a corner and i skid straight into them and have to start again, ARGH

Managed t pass it though with 5th place

got this game today, bit disappointed with the in game graphics playing on a full 1080 hd tv, brought the 2010 scooby wrx its a premium car and the in car view can barely read the numbers on the dash, im not the putting the game down or anything because i love it lol anyone know if the graphics of high end cars like lambos are like that inside?

A Spec is now well tough as you need millions of experience points. basically doing the same races over and over. done most special events and licenses.

the seasonal online races are good for xp + £££

Plus you earn money for online races = massive win (as i rinse everyone y0)
