rough engine

ok now you have all seen my car is comeing on smileys/smiley4.gif well

It is sounding rather rough and, for want of a better word, tapity.

I'm starting to get worried, and could do with some help as to find out what it is.

(it counds like a 10 year old taxi) any iodea i think it could either be the piston rings or the head? bearing in mind its not done 50k yet

first thing i would do, is just use some engine cleaner! clean or change the normal parts, sparks, oil etc! see if it makes a difference!
