Ok so hopefully getting a new exhaust system with my christmas money, the one i get will be decatted so lets just base this on a decatted system. There is a poll so you can choose which ever one is better, for whatever your personal choice.
I just want to know a few details on all.
The 3 exhausts are:
Supersprint.
Kam racing.
Which is lighter?
Which gives the better performance?
Which is raspy'ier?
Which is louder?
Which pops and bangs more/pops more flames?
And which looks better?
Thanks for looking and rating!
If anyone wants to ask any more questions about these that you think i have missed feel free.
If you have any videos of each one please put them up.
Cheers.

Which is lighter? Kam Racing
Which gives the better performance? Probably about the same, Kam racing may just have the edge you wont feel the difference between them
Which is raspy'ier? Not really sure, doubt theres much difference
Which is louder? Not suree, Supersprint slightly ?
Which pops and bangs more/pops more flames? Sorry to say but with a vtr i highly doubt youl see any flames, Maybe pop and bang a little but but you'l need a Manifold on !
And which looks better? They look the same ? kam racings 0.5 inch bigger, but is also available outward rolled which looks good. . . Down to personal preference.

Untill I see some proper RR power gain & noise figures for the Kam system Its hard to say.
If it designed right there should be no reason why it wont be the best system

your really just paying for a name, systems are all very similar tbh there all basicaly copies of the original to an extent, personally i like a meaty noise, but it's not to everybodies taste, a company called J.A.C performance exhausts up here in notts is very reasonably priced and the exhaust is made custom to you car including the back box, he does everything from the manifolds and decats to full systems and his workmanship is second to none, as the pic shows (the silencer in the picture was provided by the customer)

Voted for the kamracing exhaust for the following reasons:
Full stainless system
Lightest system there is at the moment
Personal preference on the outwardly rolled tip looking nicer than the boring straight cut of the super sprint.
Yes many people will argue all day long that the kamracing system hasnt been tested a great deal yet in terms of gains, however, the design is pretty much based on the supersprint if i remember correctly, certainly the centre section is virtually identical so i very much doubt whether there would be any noticeable difference.
Kamracing one has the slightly larger diameter backbox which from reading was to make sure that the noise levels stay below regulation limits from track days, so yes supersprint will probably be louder and raspier.
At the end of the day performance wise theres not going to be any difference worth noting, therefore the full stainless appeal of the kamracing one with better materials and a better looking backbox tip is easily the way forward

Theres not really any point in rolling roading ours against the supersprint on a normal car. The backbox is the only real noticable difference other than material. Supersprint were not interested in developing a stainless version so we went our own way. I would bet a dollar they will be near enough identical. Even compared to other manufacturers as generally we are all manufacturing a similar bore. The key is going to be when the exhausts are pushed to their maximum. Our backbox is a larger diameter but a smaller cylinder as I designed a smooth mandrel bend to link to the centre pipe. It will benefit someone whose engine is pushing near the maximum flow for a 50mm bore as its as straight and smooth bends as possible. Its still loud though so we need to get on with developing a centre silencer.
What we have is the lightest system available off the shelf, with a very high standard of manufacture that is better than most other manufacturers on the market. The tailpipe is slightly bigger and looks nicer too.

would a cam racing system pass decibel test if you got stopped by the police?

I dont know what the test is to be honest or what their max db is.
Depends on the car engine and whether you have a cat etc. For 16v engines if you are worried then there is a supersprint mid silencer option.

think 90db is the max mate.
would be on a 16v with 4 branch manifold and decat

you will need a centre silencer to get that quiet

ok thanks.
without the centre silencer, is it loud throughout the revs.
or can you drive it steady and its ok until you put your foot down?

noise meter'd mine the other day for a laugh at my mates workshop 1 mtr @45 degrees (standard test) needless to say a lot louder than that at 3000rpm roughly 97db but never get an issue really, wouldn't want to know what it's like under load as it seems a lot noisier my set up is 1.9 8 valve with twin 45 carbs and a 2 1/4 inch syestem with both boxs intact (not a cat car though)

Ive heard more people rating the Saxsport over the 2 mentioned.
Out the 2 you picked, it have to be Kam Racing...for the same reasons Willsy stated :y:

Saxsport.
- Stainless Steel
- Light (not as light as the kam racing system but still very light)
- Proven power gains
- Outwardly rolled tip
This gets my vote :y:

Im not slating your system Kev/Graeme, I am sure its a very good system...I was just stating Ive heard more good reviews (based on numbers) to that of your own product or the Supersprint.
