Evenin, got me a bit of an issue with my westcoast agen. Previously I had a problem with loud knocking when i turned right. Found out it was a worn CV joint and got it sorted. smileys/smiley2.gif

Today i turned my music down to find i have another knocking noise, but quieter than last time and it is continual, except for when i turn left smileys/smiley5.gif .

My mate hu is a mechanic said the only thing he could think of is a dodgy gearbox but then he said it doesnt make sense that it completely stops when i turn the wheel to the left. Its not the motion of turning left either, or rather the force on the car, because you literally have to turn the wheel one cm to the left and the turing doesnt even kick in yet and the knocking stops.

Another point is that it is sometimes quiet and sometimes louder. Very wierd. Any help appriciated ! smileys/smiley4.gif

when i saw the title knocking i immediatly thought cv joints, thats whats wrong with my car right now, but i reckon it just might be something to do with your steeting column maybe? not a mechanic so im not really sure, btw how much did it cost to fix your cv joint

I think that sounds like the problem I have. I have also had passenger side cv joint done but it makes a continuous clicking. It doesn't seem to make the noise all the time. But when it does, I can notice it when I go straight especially when i'm going slow.
