hi i dont know if there is already a thread on these chips but i wanna hear what people think about em
basically there like 40p resistor mods in a tacky box which plugs in on a sensor near the manifold
it tells the ecu summat about cold air
dnt really understand it
fitted it on my dads prelude and DO feel power increase
are they safe and if anyone knows can they explain what the chip really does?
thanks

i'd say no but can't give a reply that short, don't waste your time with these unless you like chronic overfuelling leading to bore wash and dissolving engine syndrome, on second thoughts i've got a few spare engines for sale..... they are a crap con aimed at people who are gullible enough to think there is such a thing as cheap BHP

all they do is trick the car into thinking the conditions (environmental) are different to what they actually are, having said that i would not recomend using them, instead save some money up and go for a re map to make changes to the car, at least then if anything goes wrong with the engine you can go back to the people who remapped it as they should garentee there work and have insurance against breakages

They just make the ECU think its cooler then it really is. The ECU uses temp to correct fuelling for air density that it works out from temp. So the resistor make the car over fuel. So they try and sell the idea to people that more fuel must make more power. This is however not true. The reality is to get substantial gains in power you require more air. Simply increasing the fuelling by any significant amounts will actually reduce power and harm your fuel economy.

thats because of your electric supercharger compliments all your chips so well, so when do you want this flame tipped jap can and ripspeed induction kit off me, or are you scared you won't handle the powaaaaaaaaah??

Ive decided to buy them off you after the snow jus to keep the possibilities of me crashing as little as possible. £850 for the full conversion right? Am I right in thinkin 5 fuel savers would counter the extra fuel consumtion by these add ons? Il leave my car with you for the week, but dont go drifting in the snow, because tbh you do seem like the sort that would.

I think the power increase you feel is all in your mind, the chip interfaces with your brain and causes it to think you are going faster than you are, common misconception ;)

My "mate" if you call him that, has a Corsa 1.2. Typical Chav, brought a universal air filter, and a Exhaust Trim* and thinks his car will take out VTR/S's lol.

* He did buy a 5" jap can for it, just to be taken the piss out off. Its a Mushy Pea green and Grey plastic car with steelies, and to him its a ferrari, me and my mate LOL so hard when he comes flooring it past us
