New mani..making strange noise??

Hi i have put a 4 2 1 manifold on my VTS and it is making a tapping sort of noise when i put my foot down, my maye had a fiesta ages ago and his 'tappets' went and sounds kind of like that. thought it could be blowing some where tho? can anyone help?

sorry i had read all the threads about tappets but its only started since i put the mani on, like as soon as started engine..?

Give the mani time to bed in...if it still does it in a few hndered miles then look else where. Could be the metal getting hotter, colder, gasses bedding in on the inside.

It doesnt sound like it would be a blow, a mani blow is more of a constant growl getting louder when you plant it.

i see, well to start...its second hand so i spose the bedding in is out the window but it does get louder the more i give it and i couldnt get one of the bolts in on the botttom row as the pipe bends instantly. could that be anything?

are the clearences gd all round tapping might be somthin vibratin on it or somthing inside of it

Start her up and open the bonnet...feel around the flange...will soon feel a blow.

Ye there was a tiny bit out the whole where theres no bolt, well think it was comeing from there but am going to take it off on fri and get all the bolts in so hopefully that will be it but didnt think that could make that noise.

Did you disturb any heat shields?
All the system on the mounts correct?

Yes there all fine i can i only think its the bolt missin, but will have them all in on friday and going to wrap it aswell so fingers crossed it will be fine :) cheers for the help. and is there some sort of notification on the home screen when you get replies or do u just do what i do and go and find the thread again lol?

make sure you clean both faces before u fit it and tighten it up evenly its most probaly blowing from were the bolts missng tbh u can use exhaust paste wen fitting the mani, on smear it abit on both faces this shud stop any blows if it dosent go away
