if the noise goes when clutch is depressed its not the clutch release bearing but gearbox related.

i am pretty sure he means when the clutch pedal is pressed in the noise goes. i am very confident that its the release bearing from just that.

thought "depressed" meant being pressed? sorry - have had a long day :wall:
CRB spins when clutch pedal is fully pressed so a faulty one will be obvious but that doesnt seem to be the poster's problem. Pretty sure its gearbox internals.

206 boxes dont fit mate. Ive had a friend try it.
When the clutch pedal is pressed, yes the bearing will spin, but because it has pressure on it, it cannot rattle.
