Friend who had my car before me had the cat removed, in actual fact i would have done the same if it had a cat in. however when it comes to my MOT, will i have to buy a cat and the pipes for it stick it in, then the next day switch it back ? how much am i looking at for a garage doing this, "taking out the decat pipe, replacing with the cat, then switching it back" is thier no other way round it ?

and yes the cat does needs to be in for the m.o.t
there is no other way around it ... unless you know the m.o.t'er smileys/smiley2.gif
but then you might fail on emissions smileys/smiley5.gif
garage should only charge you £10 - £15

Yeah new they had to be in like, and all they fail it on is the emissions, not the fact that you dont have one. Mate of mine has an R5 GTT, he doesnt need to put 1 in for his mot, think its due to the age of the car. Maybe if they tested emmisions in the morning, when its tad cold may pass. meh aint worth the risk. think ill stick 1 in !

wouldnt the emissions be even worse when its a tad cold because your engine will be running richer smileys/smiley5.gif
