basically i sold my bmc and bought a cheaper pipercross induction kit thingy and just fiteed it! now the problem..... i have taken off the black pipe which led to the standard air box and a mate of mine said you should leave it on?? is this correct??

as i have taken it off will it make the engine heat up quicker??

I would put it back on and point it at your new filter or get a cold air feed to it. just so that more cold air gets to the filter rather than it sucking hot air from around the engine. it effects performance but wont make your car blow up!?

preferably you need a cold air feed to your induction kit but your engine isn't gonna blow up
