Apologies if this has been asked before.

Would like to build a boosted 16v Track car at some point in the future, but have a few questions?

1. The term "Forged Engine" seems to be thrown around a lot. What parts of the Engine are uprated to say that the Engine has been "Forged"

2. Turbo's! Literally have no idea what they all mean. All you seem to see mentioned is GT this, T20 that, all over the place. What on earth does it all mean?

3. Headwork? Is there a limit that a standard head can take?

4. List Below of any other stuff I'll need to do. Have I missed anything?

- Chassis Strengthening (Cage, Seam Welding)
- Uprated Brakes
- Uprated Suspension
- Uprated Gearbox (BE Conversion?)
- Uprated Fuel Pump
- Diff of Some Sort (Can imagine all this power being a barrel of laughs to handle in a stripped out FWD car)

Cheers for reading, look forward to reading your replies.

forged engines tend to be just forged pistons and con rods. That will give you more than enough strength to take med-high boost. Turbo names tend to be there sizes. A t28 is bigger than a t25 and so on.. doing head work such as a post and polish wont make the car anymore reliable but may produce more power due to larger bore sizes etc. As for your list. Not nessesery for a turbo build but very advisable. You'd also need a new ecu and bigger injectors. Having the car seam welded is a good idea turbo or not if your going to track it. Hope this helps.
