nothing cheap will do anything noticeable. for handling, a lowering kit, decent brakes. You can do some simple breathing mods to make less restriction, such as a decent air filter/panel filter with cold air feed, decat exhaust. For about £3-700 depending if you do the work yourself, you can fit a vts engine, or for about £800 you can cam and remap your vtr engine, which as i found out isnt really worth doing as a vts will still be quicker

Start with removing the cylinder head get it ported and skimmed to increase compression, 4-2-1 exhaust(decat), cone filter and get the cam profiled by a professional engineer! Last thing get a performance chip to compensate the high lift cam with more fuel!

erm? ^

To the OP you should:

> Modifiy the existing airbox or get a good enclosed induction kit
> Nice cat back exhaust (Supersprint, Magnex etc)
> Decat
> 4-2-1 manifold
> Some higher lift cams (Newman PH3s are a very popular choice)
> A live remap (Not a "chip")

push of a cliff :)

Bit extreme, you could just drive down hill.

Or you could go for a brake conversion, lower the car and a few basic engine mods. Strip the interior, take off as much weight as possible. Give the car a service.

P+p and increasing the compression on basically standard engine is not worth the money that only needed for higher tune engines,

For valve for money that not worth it, even for cammed engines not really worth it.
