ive got 2000 reg vtr and although nowere near short on power i just wondered if anyone knows if there is a way of altering the rev limit,it limits at 6000 before red is it possible to take it up to between 7000/8000 thanks.

am quessing its limited to 6000 it just wont rev into the red,it hits 6000 then bbbbbbb until theres a gear change.i know there 8v im just used to vts revving up into the red thats probably due to the 16v i just wondered too if any other vtr owners could say were theres rev up to.

my 2001 vtr just goes on- no real limit bud. had it nearly a year

Dnt need it that high, but the rev limit control but the ecu, so you will need to changing it on that, which only few companys with the software can do it.
But it not needed so unless you fit a higher lift camshaft there no point, but still will never need to ge that high.
A vtr peak power is about 5k so no point in a 7 or 8k rev limit.
Vts rev limit higher due to the fact peak power higher on a vts rev range.

As above, VTR peak power is less than 6k so there is no benefit in raising the rev limiter unless you have a high lift cam
