try putting a larger bore exhaust on it :) the less back pressure you have the quicker your turbo spins up :D or get a volve t50 turbo on it ;) wish i could afford one :'(

2.5" is the best bore size for these (so ive been told on UKSC) so this exhaust will do for now :) The only turbo i think i would consider is the TD04 from the scooby.

Right just a small update. I've freshened up the car a bit by removing the window tints and re badging the car (stickers + badge). In my opinion i think it has totally changed the look of the car and for the better, the next thing is to get rid of the awful tinted lights! Here's a few pictures: :)

Havn't been on here in a while! Bit of an update to write up about. My Zisco Ram manifold was fitted about a week ago now and it seems spot on from the very short test run (up and down the street) :P Very quick picture:

http://i930.photobucket.com/albums/ad146/SheldonStyles/2df8a031.jpg

I also got my hands on a ID-Workz Varis front bumper from ebay for a bargain price of £120, never fitted or painted! I havn't test fitted this yet but plan to next weekend. Heres a picture of it feeling sorry for itself :p

Looks mint mate :y: Always wanted one of these, how much did you pay if you don't mind me asking(had a quick look trhough the thread and couldn't find it.

The Varis rep bumper should look sport on.

Rota Grid alloys (sticker made to look like Rays alloys)

To me they look like Inovits, can tell by the sticker obv and the multistud fitment which rotas don't have, the sticker will probably say "ravs" if i'm right rather than rays, look good none the less though.

such a nice car, love them, this has got potential!

Two of my mates had them, one had a glanza, was around the 180bhp and was bloody quick

other mate had the ep82 gt again around 180-200bhp, which was mad... until he decided to pay 7K and his starlet for a 340bhp ep82 quad headlight monster tbh that car was mad, massive spec.. recored td04 the lag was lets say interesting, but when on boost my god made the glanza look like a micra!!

like i said seriosly got potential!

200bhp will be spot on for me tbh. If i get bored from there, i won't bother going down the usual TD04 route, id rather save the cash and go forged first :p Then think about some bigger tubbys :)

I can imagine how quick that starlet must of been! Mine is very fast now and, as said, its only on around 180bhp at the minute! Its going to be along process but as long as i don't loose interest in the car im planning on going forged. Still unsure on what turbo i'd run yet though.

I think your area must be infested with chavs then dude :p

Granted, if you mod them wrong then you will run into BIG trouble with these. Since having this i've become a member on UKSC and vast majority have hardly any reliability issues :)

True i am from Southend in Essex.

Went to sell some gti leathers to someone in Herne Bay and lo and behold what car came up behind me bumper to bumper?

You guessed it one of these....but it was a straight national speed limit road so i just stuck to 50 ;p

Nearly bought one myself before i turned into a handling addict instead of a power addict. Must say i like the look of yours..

Well after having a think about what sort of stance/look i want to go for, i've got my heart set on a slight 'HellaFlush' type of look. Heres an image of the stance im after:

A lot of people use the whole 5E engine. There are advantages and disadvantages of going down this route. I would personally rather forge the 4E block :)

Ye, there aren't loads of 'stanced' starlets about. This is mainly down to the shit rear axle on them which means you can't get any camber on the back :( Still get some poke on the go though :p

Havn't updated this for a while so here goes! First things first, ripped off the wiper arms sanded them down, primed and sprayed them. Also bought some flat wiper blades to go with them. Look so much better than they did; should have done it so much sooner! Shitty pic but you can see how black they are now :D

http://i930.photobucket.com/albums/ad146/SheldonStyles/92c124d5.jpg

Secondly, got my private plates fitted to the car which in turn got rid of the oldd broken pates already on the car. Ordered a pedo bear sticker which went on the back window and i found a black shocker sticker in the garage so that went on as well!

http://i930.photobucket.com/albums/ad146/SheldonStyles/6a141848.jpg

Finally, today i got my MOT done which it passed. Need to get a new set of discs and pads up front as they were described as very low. Also, both the rear wheel bearings were advised so they will be getting sorted asap. After the MOT went down to Birmingham to pick up a Cusco strut brace but may sell it so i can get something else im looking at :P

I've been meaning to get spacers ever since i bought the car. I hate how much the rear wheels are in the arches! I need to see what size spacers i need and what type though (not clued up on spacers).

So that's what those wheels are. Lad across the road from me has them on his C2, and I always wonder why it says RAVS on them when you look really close.

Love these cars, on my list of potential next cars :p

Stance on that gt looking good! Definitely go for it :D
I've red up about the 1.5 bottom end from a paseo, would make it a monster!
I will if i can find the money for Arch work and new alloys! haha :p

Ye, plus that bottom end will bring down lag times on bigger turbos ;)
looks smart mate.. love the sticker!
Cheers dude :y:
My mates one of these is running 290bhp... is fucking immence i must say.

Lovely little cars,

Also, rota grid drifts are awseme! i want to get some but 18"'s are quite expensive :)
Must be a monster at 290bhp! What sort of spec is he running?

Yep, Rota's are very expensive :( lol
Looks awesome mate! Always had a soft spot for these, Was looking into getting one,
But its hard to find a mint one like you have! i'll be keeping an eye on this thread...
True, there is a lot out there that have been owned by people who havn't got a clue. They'll just turn the boost up with no fueling mods, not service it at the right intervals.. Basically fuck them up for the next owner! lol.

RAVS ftw ;) haha. I'd love to get a real set of TE37 Rays but they are silly money!

Get a Glanza, you won't be disapointed ;) aha

Right after i had the MOT done i went through the advisories list and decided to correct everything on there before i do anything else to the car. It was advised on front brake imbalance, low front pads and both rear wheel bearings. First things first, i ordered a set of grooved discs and EBC yellow stuff pads from ebay. Heres a quick picture; will be fitting them tommorow hopfully as well as bleeding the system :)

http://i930.photobucket.com/albums/ad146/SheldonStyles/882fafad.jpg

I know they're not the best discs in the world but at £116 included pads, they'll do for now :) Also, after reading plenty of threads about the different types of EBC pads it will be interesting to see what i make of these yellow stuff pads! Very mixed reviews on all 3 colours!

Well the brakes are on the car but not without its problems! The back plate is rubbing against the drivers side disc brake which is very annoying and most probably will damage the disc. I took the calliper and disc back off today but there is nothing i can really do to push it back or move the disc forward :(

Anyway, besides that problem everything else went ok! Havn't bled the whole system yet but did go around each caliper to remove any trapped air. Will be beeding the whole thing sometime next week :) BONUS as well, found out that i have braided brake lines :P

http://i930.photobucket.com/albums/ad146/SheldonStyles/46dfad37.jpg

Obviously havn't tested the brakes out properly yet as im still bedding in the new pads but compared to the brakes that were on the car.. MASSIVE difference already!

Just waiting on the heat wrap to arrive then it will be on the car! It's a Japspeed System and is a direct copy of the Blitz Nur Spec. They retail at roughly £250 but got it on eBay, brand new, for £102 ;)

nice glanza i had one a year or 2 ago myself running 221.4bhp.. ur better off staying below the 200 mark to b honest unless u want to be spending money every week there very tempremental when you put too much in.. i ended up doing a conversion to a 1.5 cynos engine with a ct9 and selling it.. really good conversion to do if your looking to move it up a bit more you can keep all your mods an just go up that .2 litre it makes a big difference.. best of luck with it its a very tidy example of a car that normally wrecked by 17 or 18 year olds with no clue

Since fitting my Japspeed system nothing much has been done to the car. Met up with a fellow UKSC member last week some time for a bit of a boost and we both noticed a blueish smoke coming the exhaust. At first i wanted to cry because i thought it would be my engine (thinking the worst :P) haha but then after taking my intercooler piping off everything became clear! I had a lot of oil in the piping which points to turbo oil seals but luckily i have something to take it's place..

http://i930.photobucket.com/albums/ad146/SheldonStyles/af779e74.jpg

Got this kit from Quadcorecraig (UKSC member, copied and pasted this update) at a good price. Originally wanted to go for a Racetech externally gated kit but for the time being this will be fine! I'm going to be running it at 0.6bar until i get all the other bits plus an emanage and then get it mapped :)

I've text quadcorecraig but havn't had a reply so someone else may know.. What would this actuator be set at? 0.6bar?

Cheers dude. The TD05 is slightly bigger than the TD04 so spooling times will be worse. The people who have forged engines do runner bigger turbos as they can up the boost to compensate for more lag. The 1.5 lump is also another option which will bring down lag a lot but i'm fairly certain one of the fastest starlets in the world is still running the 1.3ltr engine!

Haha :p Yee it is a good option to go for! Plus if you ever wanted to go Td05, VF28 etc they all use the same flange as the TD04 so you'll just need the new turbo ;)

Directly copied from UKSC so member names will not be recognised*

Well as some of you may know, i sold the WEPR kit i bought from Quadcorecraig as i didn't want to chop the exhaust blah blah. Went for a trip to Derby to see 'Saun Glanza V' (Think thats the right spelling :P) and bought his basically brand new Racetech TD04 Kit! Spent the last couple of days getting things on, chopping intercooler pipes etc lol. Heres a few pictures of the result:

To start every 2nd week or so the oil return from the turbo developed a leak pissing oil out of it and would have to park up wherever i noticed it, ring someone to come and tow me home and take the front mount off while i was waiting for them to come so i could tow the car.. i had the LSD box with a TRD diff:

not possible, lsd box as standard is extra diff on the edge, this box has didferent mounts, and can't have any trd lsd retrofitted to it, trd diff only fits in the non lsd box.

your post reeks of shite to be honest.

..i wouldnt advise this..apart from shitting itself half way through a run in Bishopscourt it limited top speed to just under 115 even delimited..i know 115 is quick but you reach it quick enough in a 220bhp car that only weighs 980kg..:

fitting an lsd makes no difference to top end speed.

..When i bought the car it had 16in STR RS GT's on it and they weighed a ton and wrecked the gearbox....:

i ran 16's on both my starlets, one 330 bhp, the other 200bhp. done no harm to the gearbox.

..i had a standard turbo for the first few months after buying it which blew its seals so got a ct9b fitted at a massive cost which only lasted 7 months before it shit itself too....:

massive cost? the ct9b is the standard glanza turbo, no difference except one extra fin on the exhaust side, cost the same as the ct9a, fits the same manifold, and take 30 mins to change over.

.. so thats when i decided on the 5e conversion..defo the best mod i done and ran it with another ct9 at low enough boost .7 i think....:

a 5e on a ct9 at .7 bar will be slower than a standard vts.

.. oh yea actually 2 manifolds in just over a year..i don't know why but they kept going..one was a s/s mongoose and the other a modified WERP.. anyway best of luck with it mate you'll probably need it ha :y:

i take it you had the mongoose specially made for the ct9? and why was the WEPR modified? they make direct fit ct9, tdo4, tdo5 manifolds, there is no need for them to be "modified"

your post reeks of shite to be honest.

Very impressed, looks well put together and nice and clean! I work with a lad who's got a white one. Not done many miles either, he paid quite a bit for it couple years ago i think! Recently he's made a few mods, manifold, decat, fcd, boost controller, front mount, fpr etc, running 0.8 bar, made 188bhp at Alan Jeffery's in plymouth. Dont know if you're rolled yours yet but that might give you something to compare to?
