hi iv got a mk1 1.1i without a rev counter, iv heard if i buy vtr clocks, i can just plug the tachometer into the ecu
is this true or is there more work involved?

Depending on what ecu you have, you may be able to run a wire from a pin on the ecu to the correct pin on the clocks, itll work fine then.

sure i only saw the thread a couple of days ago lol, sumthing to do with where does the 3rd wire go, was a picture of the pin lay out on it
