basically i have just put a supersprint full exhaust system on my vtr, but i have been told getting a supersprint 4-2-1 manifold to go with it will make the car accelerate alot better, is this true??

you will probably gain about 6 bhp with the manifold. You will notice the different but its not going to be over dramatic.

as kamracing said you will see a small gain but nothing to write home about really. well worth the money though! wish i had the money to buy one off my mate i had a go in my car with one on and it felt slightly nippier but it could just be down to the old case of your mind is tricking you. every body has there opinions

depends 16v you want 4-1 mani as they give more power and its already got a longer rev range as its a 16v.
4-2-1 manis are for 8v as it gives them a longer rev range which is what an 8v needs.

4-2-1 or 4-1, in reality makes bugger all difference on a road car. Theory is great but the reality is you will not notice unless the engine is at a state of tune to take advantage of it.

a generalisation, and incorrect.

Eh?
A 4-1 will generally yield more power at the upper end of the rev range, whereas a 4-2-1 will generally give a better "spread" of the increase of power, with slightly less top end power than the 4-1 would give. Both are sensitive to cam timing, although the 4-1 much more-so. A 4-1 can often actually feel like it's reduced torque lower down the power band in real terms.
Although I hate sweeping statements like that. But I hate inaccuracies even more...

sound cheers guys, im guessing that because i have a de-cat pipe and back box from supersprint it would be best to get a supersprint manifold?? and also one last question, will it make a difference to the sound??

erm... ok I will. Thanks for letting me know about this. Again, thanks.

If you can afford it the supersprint (http://www.kamracing.co.uk/index.php/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-exhaust/exhaust-manifold/supersprint-inox-race-manifold-citroen-saxo-8v.html) is one of the best manifolds on the market. High quality materials, finished off the welds inside to get it smooth to maximise gas flow. They are a work of art.

to give a short answer on a standard engine you will notice no real difference apart from maybe an exhaust note change if you have a nice system.

you will notice a slight difference. We are only talking around 6 bhp including the cat removal so its not a dramatic difference. Worth it though

i have got a KamRacing 4-2-1 to go on to my mk2 vtr which has already got a system on it and very slight breathing mods what can i expect from that?
P.S the mani looks ace btw cannot wait to get it on :y:

sorry but we have done this and proved it that the shorter the pipe the quicker it is but lower top end, longer it is slower is but the higher the top end
its basic volemetric efficiency:y:
