I've got a W Reg VTR and the engine is buggered. I need to get another engine so I might as well go VTS.
What do I need and how much will it cost for parts? I've got fitting sorted
Cheers

Covered loads mate, have a search :y:
You will be looking at £300 upwards depending on if engine is cammed, milage, whats with it etc.

Try and get the stuff from same year car :y:
You can leave your brakes on, or go for a GTi-6 set up.
Manifold different but engine usually comes with one. Need to check though

Pretty much it mate :y:
If you can then get a twin fan set up too :y:
Other thing if you can is an S box, as the R box ratios are long.
You can use any box you want, and single fan is fine too. Just things to look into if you want mate.

just keep the vtr box mate, just need a vts lump, wiring loom and ecu, make sure its the same plug, pretty sure yours will be single plug, so get a single plug vts ecu and you'll need to get it unlocked.

You need the engine out of a v/w/x reg to make life easier, you've got a crossover car so it's a single plug ecu but the loom needs the big multiplug like the 3 plugs have.

Is that a 1999 mk1 or mk2? If it's early mk2 I'm pretty confident it will fit your car easily
