The thing about oils is there primary use is to protect the engine. The test does not really show what is the best oil but rather out of the ones they used in the weights they picked witch one had the least internal drag. But by simply using a slightly thinner oil will normally show an increased power but will generally sacrifice protection. So it may be down to there given viscosity rating varying slightly rather then one oil is better then another. It is impossible to tell from the information they have given to what is really going on so don't read to much in to it,

All the grades were 5w 30 apparentley

But I have just found another test with the same oils on another car.

I mentioned viscosity as the thing is oils viscosity is not all that accurate. It can actually be quite a way off.

Also look at the sway from one dyno run to another. There is up to 5.3kw from one run to another with the same oil.

They also don't give air temp, humidity or air pressure at the time. It takes some time to do 10 oil changes and I would have imagined that these may have changed as the day/night went on.

Then looking at there HSV dyno run. The Nulon, Royal Purple, mobil 1 and Motul suddenly perform within a fraction of a % of one another.
