I never paid much attention before, but with my MOT coming up and having just bought a haynes manual I see some tubing is not where it should be and I don't know what it's for.
The car was and still is running fine so I'm just confused as to why it's no longer in place. You should be able to see what I mean when you compare the two pictures.

Thats the air tube to feed your airbox with cold and warm air mate - the pipe that comes off the exhaust manifold heat sheild helps with cold running, the other bit runs to the front to funnel air directly to the filter box.

Right. Thanks for the info. I'm guessing it's not completely necessary but any idea why it would be removed? And should I get it replaced?

would not worry about it mate no needed just helps warm things up when I had my 1.1 spi ax some cone filter on and it was fine without that hot air manifold feed

Good to know, I was a little worried for a bit but looks like I'll just leave it as it is.
