i've been following the guide today whilst fitting this manifold and have a couple of problems.

first is, i'm having trouble tapping the oil return hole so i can block it with a bolt.
i've bought a tap and die kit, and the m10 tap seems too big to fit in the hole and the m8 is too small.
is there any other way of blocking this hole, like exhaust putty or something?

second problem is, i've snapped the oil pressure sensor. the plug on the loom is fine, its the plug on the part that screws into the block that has snapped.
can the car run without this sensor until i get one or is it a no-no.
also when i do get a replacement, is a mk1 sensor shorter so that it doesn't get snapped by the manifold again.

cheers for any help guys

why dont you try an M9? Cant see why the car wont drive with the OPS off, you will just get a warning light on the dash.

When i fitted mine with my dad lol, i started off with a m8 drill bit then gradually made the thread bigger and then got bigger m9/m10 then tapped it out and then filled it up with a grub screw and for a new sensor i got a new one from bullseye for 7 quid as you will need one anyways as the original is too large and will melt.
