My poorly VTS is currently running a misfire, nowit hasnt been doing it too long, it just seem t have started a week or two ago and weve had the coil pack out and we can see oils getting to the spark plugs . . . Ive checked the water in the RAD but its quite clear to be honest which is always a good sign. One f the lads from work has recommended getting new stem seals on it because one or two may of gone iffy over time but that would mean taking the engine to bits an taking it off the road for a bit, is tere anything else to try before getting to 'heavy' ? Thanks Mark

stem seals don't cause a misfire unless they are really bad and oiling the plugs up,though to be honest if the plugs are oily it sounds like theres going to be some serious wear inside the cylinders so its going to have to come apart.

missfire could also be duff injectors or leaking head gasket, if gasket has gone between two cylinders it won't neccesarily show any of the other usual symptoms. Get a compression test done.

sounds like injectors to me......is the coil pack good?? If the oil is coming from the top cover gaskets (common to leak) it deposits on the spark plug entry holes...the pack can get damaged with all the oil....hapened to me once!

try borrowing a coil pack and clean before using it! Its worth a try i think!

change coil pack and plugs (and leads if it has them??)
if it still misses then you've eliminated the major culprits
