Hi,
Personally when it comes to a vts the 4-1 manifold is slightly better as it gives a bigger top end and you don't need to relocate anything. It also depends wether or not your getting a full system? Personally if your going to buy a 421 or 41 manifold you might aswell decat as the catalyst is there to restrict the exhaust gases, and your installing a manifold which will increase them so yes i would decat it. Decent air filter/manifold/system on a vts will see you about +15bhp (Rough figures as all models are different based on how they've been treated) but will feel alot more responsive and a little more torque. To sum up - You will beat a standard vts:drink:

Should all piece together mate although different brands the exhaust will have to follow the same route along the bottom of the car bud

A 4-1 doesn't always mean you'l see an overall increase in power over a 4-2-1. I know of people who seen better gains throughout the rev range with a 4-2-1 mani over a 4-1!
The cat isn't there to restrict, ristriction is a bi product of the cat, if you use a sports cat, it's almost no restriction and will make no difference.

I'd go with the Raceland 4-2-1 personally

The Janspeed is a better fit and is better made, but it will rust. (Although it will probably outlive your interest in the car).
The raceland is stainless steel but can be an awkward fit.
Unless youre going race cams and throttle bodies, then a 4-2-1 manifold will give you a better gain over a 4-1

I dont think any 4-1 for the saxo vts has been proven to give more top end on a normally aspirated tune, with the best 4-2-1's outperforming them by a reasonable margin.
