Furio to vtr or vts is possible. Would be advisable to get the rear beam as well, i don't think furios have rear disk brakes do they.
Have you done a lot to the car visually, if not it will probably be cheaper to sell up and just buy the vts or vtr as the insurance is pretty steep on engine conversions i'm lead to believe.

take it you know what you need for conversion?
if your changing your engine to a vtr/s and youve got a vtr interior id suggest sending away your log book to change it to a vtr/s depending which engine you have, then the insurance wont ass rape you

im 18 with 1yrs no claims... but i rlly dnt need 2 tell insurance.... lol.. u got any ideas where i can get a guide/wiring diagrams?
Mattvtr
13th June 2006, 13:48
tis pretty straight forward i am told if you have an engine from a vtr/s that is the same mark as yours, id suggest labelling everything up you disconnect on the vtr/s engine and then labelling all the bits you disconnect from your furio engine that are still in the car and will make it a lot easier

Don't be so silly, if you don't tell them, your insurance is void and When you have a crash you will be fucked, not to mention the poor sod you you might crash into.
It's not very clever.

I have a pug 205 wide arch dimma with an mi16 soon to be a zantia 2.0 turbo conversion car. My insurer believes the car to be a bog standard 1.9 8valve 205.. im 18.. my insurance is fully comp.. not expensive.. and if your not a twat you wouldnt crash into other people and if someone crashes into you say you dont want to go through insurance you want them to pay cash.. or a simple solution dont stack your car...
I learnt to drive in a 2litre 205 and i have never had any problems at all, and there is nothing on the car which is standard.
Besides it isnt your problem slow hand.. so just share the knowledge on the conversion if you have any in your tiny brain.... and stop going on about insurance

Some of my mates also dont tell the insurer the exact details for example good friend of mine building a 400hp nova tubby.. 300hp off gas 400 with... isnt telling them he has a let under the bonnet.. Previously same situation with a 300hp prooved on a rolling road didnt insure it fully.. now has an evo.. My brother has a 200sx with a skyline engine in it which is currently being built too 500hp.. not insured as a CA18 lump ie 200sx standard engine

Furio-Hoe is my mate and i told him to join a forum to find out if there are many differences with the lume and to get some wiring diagrams. Also if there are any transmission related problems when doing the conversion or is it just a straight swap... soo if there are any technical people around then help would be appreciated,,

so what happens when someone crashes into the back of ya car and writes it off?
your insurance will deny any responsibility and will void your insurance. Therefore you will be left with a fucked car and no money to repair or buy a new one with. If you don't declare your mods then you have to be prepared to lose a hell of a lot of money.
Think about that before you start thinking about holding things back from them.

personally the majority of the cars value is under the bonnet the shell isnt really important... besides this aint about insurance.. your choice what you do with your insurance and my choice what i do with mine..

Scott
13th June 2006, 17:53

Oh dear, well you clearly have about as much technical experiance as a dead person.. and just picking up on the fact that your 22 with a saxo is quite shameful.. Also if a person whos insurance isnt valid crashes into you.. you arent left with nothing it goes to court and you get compensation soo mr admin maybe you should no what your talking about before you make a lil post

Clever boy, your giving away your money to your insurance company for nothing as your insurance will be void and so you are driving with out insurance which is a criminal offence plus your insurance company will not pay out for accidents to you or to the other person/s involved
Scott
13th June 2006, 17:57
lol so im 22 with a saxo whats your point?
I know exactly how the conversion goes.
So i should then waste my time going to court because someone can afford to insure there car properly? Yes and im the one lacking knowledge....

13th June 2006, 17:59
If your 22 maybe you should get a car thats actually fast lol.... thats exactly my point.. and stop making excuses the post wasnt made for you to show off your knowledge of insurance..

What and get a 205 turbo because thats fast?
You know nothing of me i could buy a really fast car right now if i wanted but i dont have the space to keep it and i dont need one right now.
Your the one lacking in knowledge here in both a technical and common sense side of things.

ermmm oh dear why would i make a turbo conversion if i was going to use it sensibly... thats boring.. and would be a waste of time.. i tell you what if you dont think a 205 turbo with 300hp is fast then il race you on a track.. and then you will see how far your dog shit 1.6 will get you... im clearly lacking on knowlegde thats why im doing my conversion on my own.. and helping to make 1 my brothers car 500hp and my dads supra too be 800 Wheel horse power which for you Fly hp boys is 1000...

What if a company car crashes into you? Theres no way you cant go thru the insurance on that one....
What if the person infront of u is late for work and is drinking coffee whilst driving and spills it slams on and you go into the back of them?
You cant predict that you wont crash, your driving may be great, as your a perfect driver but then not every driver is as perfect as you.
Who cares about what car you drive? Im dont need a big flash fast car to make myself feel better, and dont say thats cos you cant afford one, cos mate, i quite easily could.
How would you feel if someone crashed into you and had no insurance? Im sure you wouldnt be impressed, and what if they just drove off?
Mite be cheaper for you to not tell the insurance, but then what if you get pulled over and police have a quick check on your car, they have a look around and find out that your car is not what its down on the log book as? You'd be fucked, bye bye license, hello big fine and points....Is it worth it? If your that good of a driver and supposedly quite old (altho you dont act it) then your insurance shouldnt be expensive anyway...
as Ratty has said before, if you don't care that you're driving around technically uninsured then post your details on here and we'll hand them onto the police. if you don't give a shit then you've nothing to worry about. :)
