Wrap a tape measure round your pipe and divide the circumference by Pi (3.14).
From memory its 45mm, but I'm suprised you've got a centre silencer to be honest. I thought all Furio's had a straight through pipe.
If you're wanting to change just the backbox then it doesnt matter on the size of bore as the flange connector is the same size on all saxo's. Unless youre putting a "universal" backbox on then you'll need a reducer and some welding skills.

You dont even need that, if you get the right kind of backbox it will literally just hook on and bolt on the same as the old one.
I have two, Standard VTR/VTS Backbox and a big bore one, the fittings are the same and they attach the same, just makes things easier if you want to swap about from time to time :)

the one i got is universal but im sure that thats 45mm. so hopefully can be welded straight on. i wont be doing it will get a garage to do it. i was lookig at the reducers on ebay which is why i was wondering on the size. but most probs getting it welded on will be best option. and yeah mine has silencer on. on the service history and notes it seems to have had a few exhaust changes so the mid silencer must be put on by mistake. would i notice a change in throttle response if i got rid of the silencer and put the backbox on a straight threw tube, than if i just put it straight onto the one with the silencer? or would it just be the noise that would be different?

my backbox is 60mm so no dout il need a reducer if i was to fit myself. probs be best just to get it welded. and as mentioned earlyer they thort furios didnt have a mid silencer well looking at my exhaust system this morning is exactly the same as the scetch in haynes manual for typical petrol exhaust.

regarding how my exhaust is set up at the moment (me thinking its wrong) as its manifold - down pipe -cat - mid silencer - backbox
would this set up be causing my engine any damage? if not then all good.

Thats normal.
Im not quite sure what youre trying to do either? by the sounds of a bodge a universal backbox onto the system?

Sorry to drag up this old thread , but i am after a adaptor / reducer for my furio centre section which will go onto my magnex back box , i am pretty much sure it can be fitted together with clamp fittings at either end , question is what size adaptor would i need ? cheers :y:
