i tried the search but cant seem to find anything on the subject..

has anyone used any of the universal exhaust baffle inserts you can buy?

are they worth it and how much improvement do they make to really loud exhausts?

thanks:P

I can only imagine sticking baffleing in, will block the exhaust up?

backboxs have a mesh inside away from the edge that holds baffleing in, so gasses pass straight through, but the baffleings the sound deadening
thats how my dads old CF Micron race can was on his bike

thats true about blocking them up.. ive got one in my exhaust but its not a proper tube like one.

i wanted to know wether the proper ones are worth while, my exhaust is still too loud at particular revs, and depending how many people are in the car..?

Sure you're not getting confused with repackable boxes?

Oh they're just removable bungs that go in the back box. You use them for motorways and commutes. Kill a bit of power but quieten noisy systems right down. Jap stuff have them commonly.

I had ones for my old STI RA and S14 and they both were a lot less boomy with them in, but they did both have 3" one box exhausts lol. A mate of mine put his ST205 on the RR with and without one and it only made a dozen BHP or so difference which surprised me, they feel like they do a lot more.

Tbh, if you need one you should have bought a better exhaust though. Helmholtz resonators quieten things down without sapping power etc.

noise aside, they look terrible when fitted. reminds me of when mopeds/pizza bikes look to have a big exhaust but have a tiny pea shooter inside the can

when they get covered in soot you cant see them in the exhaust, just like my current baffle...
