Guys im looking at fitting a Mocal 13 row engine cooler kit. Now On my engine the radiator top hose has two pipes coming off that connect on the oil filter housing (heat exchanger or something??)
Now Do i have to swap this hose for the old type without the two other hoses coming off or does the sandwich plate fit over the top of the current oil filter housing??? Im a little confused and dont understand this at the minute.
Thanks in advance....

Top hose changing init.. As the mocal plate doesn't have the coolant circulating like the heat exchanger does.

You need a 106 gti top hose (doesn't have the two hose take-off)
Then fit mocal as normal and job done!

Oooopppppssss - ideally you'll want to ditch the oem fans to give you the room to fit it comfortably in the widemouth of the bumper

I have just fitted a mocal with the thermostatic plate. I have not removed the old oil exchanger plate. I have left it all as it was & just bolted the new one on top.
It all seems to work fine the oil temp needle stays dead center of the gauge.

Interesting......so just to clarify (im a little tired so bare with me) you lef the old block that the filter mounts to inplace and fitted the sandwich plate to that??
Contacted the hose people to see if my order has been dispatched....if not i will alter the top hose first. We shall see what happens. :y:

Yes, just removed the oil filter fitted the new mocal plate on , refitted a new oil filter. Works fine.
Infact the water temperature also runs a notch cooler as well. I have fully thrashed the car the oil needle never moves above the middle. It used to go to the top

Could be wrong, but it looks to me like 2 is for use with the heat exchanger, and 23 without.

You shouldn't need any extra parts.
In the order for removing the oil filter parts:
- oil filter off
- unscrew female/male thread adapter/bolt
- remove heat exchanger
Then to fit oil cooler is:
- put take off plate against the block
- screw the mocal supplied thread adapter on
- screw oil filter on
You shouldn't need any extra parts, other than those supplied with the mocal kit.

In that diagram, you only need part no. 4 if you have part 23 already fitted to your Vts engine. If you have part 2 then you don't need part 4. You basically need a male thread in the block for the mocal adapter to screw onto.
Then there should be a part within the oil cooler kit which is like part 2 but obviously the right depth to suit the take off plate

Yeh no worries!! Pm away or bang some pictures up on here
I think you'll have part 23 already, if so then you'll need part 4.

i find that if you get the top rad hose of a 206 it fits perfectly and for you whores it has a bend in it which is the perfect curve around the PAS fluid res will get you a pic of it on mine! and oil coolers are very easy fitting where are you placing it? always loves the behind the fog light hole myself!
