how much would it cost to get a blocked bored out? is it worth it on a saxo? was looking at going for itb so was going to do an engine rebuild at the same time with forged pistons so wondered if it would be worth while going bigger aswell? any ideas? thanks

better of doing a mi20 conversion much more funn bore that out get the pistons and oild feed done and stick a turbo on will be fun

and whats an mi20?? do you mean mi16?

He's not asking for advice on different engine conversions is he?


In answer to your question. If your changing your pistons to high comps you will need a slight and hone to the correct size of the pistons you are fitting.

Your not increasing the cc of the engine by much, there is no room for that on the TU engine. Only way to increase the cc is to fit a stroker kit which takes it to a 1800. That wont come cheap!!

Standard size pistons are 78.5 some high comp 78.7 pistons will make a 1600cc biggest really is 80mm pistons.

If your planning an engine biuld, then yer a re bore will not cost much pistons are same size for the different sizes,

So yes I would say it be the best way if your planning a re biuld.

thats just for boring mate. I payed a bit less, mine came to £94 inc VAT
