As above, Just re-built my VTS engine and got no problems etc, starts up fine etc,

Just wondering how long until the hydraulic tappits stop tapping and get oil into them?

Mind i've only started the car 3 or 4 times, and will take the car for a drive tomorrow, will that help? Got the correct amount of oil aswell :y:

some take longer then others though i've never particulary had any trouble with S engines tapping for too long, don't let it tickover too long if its just been rebuilt, keep it at a fast idle without ragging it, when you drive it,don't let it labour in any gear either. Should clear pretty quickly. Were the followers new ones?

Start it up & hold the revs at 3000rpm for upto 10 minutes, it will clear.

Yeh the followers were new from citreon themselves and were lubricated before i put them in :)

I'll keep driving it then, like i said, only got it up and running yesterday :y:

Shouldn't take too long as the oil should be up there after a few seconds then they will start adjusting to get the correct clearance, you should of before starting the engine crank it over alittle to allow the oil pressure to biuld up on a new engine.

And yes hold the throttle open abit for a fast ilde for abit, then it should be ok as they should have started to get the oil.

Then start to run the engine in correctly.
