i'd be surprised if you insurance company would let mess around with the engine considering you've just passed.

he's talking about modding the engine. £ per BHP is not worth it until you reach the VTR :P

get a VTr bottom end and whack that on! so you get more torque and some extra BHP.... as iirc all 1.4 TU heads have the same valve clearance?.... anyone care to confirm this

I heard that by putting a VTR bottom end you would get the benefits of a VTR engine, but that no one would be able to tell unless they actually took it apart...

You wouldn't be able to tell a 1.1 bottom end from a 1.6 just looking in from a general view, theres only a slight difference in size and the 1.4 is same dimensions I believe with larger internals... but alas there is an easy way to tell!..... the engine codes are all on the bottom ends!

you can tell the difference between the 1.1 and 1.6, cosidering the 1.1 is cast alluminium block and the 1.6 is cast iron block.
all ave cast allu heads!.

In reallity, you will be faster if you have a awesome handling car with awesome brakes. Trust, you be quicker in the long run.
Besides, your car has enough power to have fun in so spend money on suspension and brakes.
And put a stupidly loud exhaust on!!!! People will think, "that sounds fast" even if it ain't.

Without taking the engine out and examining it closely or doing it thouroughly in situ.... you can hardly tell.... my 1.1 lump looked identical to my 1.4 GTi lump when next to each other bar the engine code placement and inlet, when everythings in the way its very difficult to tell, especially if the block is painted to cover the rust that forms on the surface of the iron blocks

i was thinking about putting a vtr bottom end in, ive also herd that vtr cams in a furio will make it faster, is this true?
