If you have the cat in the manifold you'll need a manifold without a cat?

sorry i mean i want a "race tube" but i been told i need a decat pipe and race tube, but will i need a decat pipe because it wont decat it?

no you wont need 1. you just need the sports manifold (wich will have de-cat) and just get a centre pipe to get rid of silencer

he didnt say he wants to de cat it he just wants to remove the centre silencer.

you just need a straight through race tube for a mk 2 mate.

posted just a lil late there. no you do not need a de-cat just to use the race tube. will fit straight onto your downpipe.
if you want to de-cat it you need a sports manifold (4-2-1, 4-1) mate

im confused by that? It doesnt matter if you have a race tube or not mate if you still have a manifold with a cat on its not going to decat it!All you need is a new manifold :)

so any centre pipe will do, i got told one runs from the decat pipe to backbox and other from mani to bacnbox? :S :S :S :S

no your set up is:manicat-downpipe-centre pipe with silencer-back box

so what your after is: manicat-downpipe-centre pipe no silencer-backbox?

if so just a racetube will do no need for anything else.
in long shot tho if you ever want to de-cat it get a 4-2-1 manifold or 4-1

there are 2 types of set up
your is manicat-downpipe-mid pipe-back box

mine is the older one manifold-downpipe-cat converter (or de-cat)-mid pipe-back box

my mid pipe also has a silencer which i want rid of lol.

so im imagining there are maybe 2 lengths of mid pipe. 1 for mine that runs to the cat and 1 for yours that runs to the downpipe???

I think there is two lenghts of mid pipes??

Anyone tell me?

im guessing so as like i said mine goes to the cat. yours goes to downpipe.
but yeah to get rid of ya silencer just get a race tube. there is no need at all for you to de-cat it to have this on.

as you can see 2 lengths we was right haha

the MK2 set up is Manifold, then Cat and down pipe which is on piece, then either one pipe to rear silencer or 2 pipes making the centre section, i have a piper cat back sytem which consists of centre sect with silencer then the second part of the centre pipe then the piper back box.

who ever told you that you need a decat pipe they were talking about the early saxo's/ vts's
it all changed in early 2001 the cat went from under the car to in the manifold.
so pre 2001 (mk1, very early mk2's or vts's ) yes you need a de-cat pipe to get rid of the cat but there is no center silencer iirc.

so to get rid of the center silencer of a mk2 you'll need a 'race' tube wich runs from the downpipe/cat to the backbox. and to get rid of the cat on a mk2 you'll need a whole mani/downpipe

even so the early ones (like mine) you dont need a de-cat to have a racing tube do you? mines early phase 2 but same set up as phase 1 (cat under the car. mines de-cated, but i still have the bloody mid silencer (which i want rid of soon)

just saying that u don't need a de-cat pipe to get rid of the silencer yo need a race tube.

ahhhh right. thought you was meaning the race tube wouldnt fit a normal cat lol. i was saying it because the ends on the cat and the de-cat pipe look the same lol :y:

Answer to your question get a racetube and it will have no silencers
