as in the add im probably sounding really stupid but im pritty sure its a phase 2 engine as ive had 4 mk1 vtrs and this one has the grey rocker cover and a different ecu? only reason im asking is because im looking at a 4-2-1 manifold off ebay and dont wanna waste a load of cash if it wont fit.
heres the pics of the engine below ill be grateful for any help peeps thanks..

how many plugs as the ecu got? 1 plug its phase 1, 3 plug its phase 2 engine.
my mate has a phase 1 saxo with same rocker cover as that (silver top) 1 plug ecu. i have a phase 2 saxo and the engines exactly the same as mine was early phase 2. but my engine is still 1 plug ecu

There was a crossover with a silvertop and a one plug. The important thing is what sort of oil filter it has, screw on can type or paper one?
Btw are you not running a air filter in the first pic?

there are three different engines
-black top, single plug, canister style filter, 90bhp
-silver top, single plug, canister style filter, 90bhp
-silver top, three plug, remote style filter, 98bhp
and technically the 4-2-1 will fit any 8v , its only the inlet manifolds that differ

cheers boys yeah oil filters not a problem its a screw on can type just wanted to make sure i wasnt gonna have problems lining it up to the head and its a home made filter got fine mesh infront of it aswell to prevent debris flying up it runs really well on it

all the heads are the same exhaust porting
its the filter that causes the issues but if you have screw type youll be fine
