Hey guys,
I fitted a 1.1 with a mushroom air filter and a vent filter, the car feels more sporty and sounds great.
Question:
Would a upmarket exhaust make any difference?
Not after sound, just performance
Would there be any major difference..

dont spend any more money on the engine mate. there is nothing you can do that will make it faster. i have a mushroom filter. i wont even waste my money on a back box. i went over a big speedbump and split the exhaust so now it sounds great on overrun popping away. buy a 16v engine and double your power. you dont even need to weld in the mount, it can be done on the 1.1 mounts

An good exhaust system with a decat and manifold would make it rev a bit more freely as you have taken out the restrictions and increased the bore slightly.
But on a 1.1 i dont think you would feel any notable difference.
