I need to heat wrap my manifold as its gets so hot and just heats up the engine nad the ram cooler seems to be sucking in more hot air than cold.
Is there anyway the wrap can be fitted with out taking the manifold off? As it was a bitch to fit so could do with out another mission.
Its a 4-2-1 if that makes any difference?
Cheers

you might be able to wrap it while its still on but i cant see it being easy and might do a crap job

I seemed to see it reasonably cheaply on demon tweek's website the other week :Y: ... it should be possible to do with without removing the manifold...but as hessle says not sure you neat you could get it... and i dont know how low you could get it as you cant physically reach that low in the engine bay...

Ebay is banging it out for a tenner and you can access all the manifold so in theory it should be possible but I just wondered if anyone had manged it before I spent a whole day realising it cant be done.
just watch what type of manifold you have, on the mild steel manifolds the heat wrap traps moisture and can accelerate rusting :)

It's stainless...can see from the pics. ;)
That's the reason i didn't wrap mine though.
just took my gmc off, got some wrap off ebay along with clps, used all of the 50ft, started off by cleaning the manifold, then spraying it with heat resistant paint. then fitted the wrap to the manifold, dampen the wrap then fit it to the smallest branches of the manifold, then the longest then wrap the bottom. make sure the clips are holding the wrap tight.
it smells nice when started and you can feel the difference with the heat in the engine bay. i noticed that the whole exhaust seems to be hotter and it pops and bangs a bit more LOL
looks cool too

Take it off ste... it won't be tight round the branches and will be more hassle wrapping it with it on.... as a result it will end up doing f' all tbh... you need to get an even spread
