To get the cam right it will need timing properly with a timing disc not standard timing, then I'd recommend getting a vernier and having it set on a rolling road... thats another couple of hundred
no point camming unless youve done the basics first in my opinion ie full exhaust, manifold etc etc then if you want a cam do it properly ie headwork and remap :)
agreed. get a full exhaust (something decent not like powerflow), manifold, decent induction kit etc etc first and then get the cams AND remap. pretty pointless getting cams without a remap imo. think a remap may set u back around 4-500 tho

do they do a cam for the 2000 vtr as i can only see up to 1999 (old shape) or are they the same?? I am just thinking about it at the mo but the guys that would be doing it do custom exthrsts aswell so i would be getting that done at the same time. then see how it is and if it needs a remap get that done. but they a good mates of mine so they will be sorting out so we will have to see how the money goes.

Firstly there is nothin wrong with a Powerflow exhaust matey, not if u get them fitted @ a proper garage!!!
Secondly I gree with wot ur sayin about the re-map, and it does make so so much difference to get it mapped, but, a remap will not set u back £400-£500 mate, Mine cost me £225 fitted and dyno'd!!!
if you change the cam then you will need a remap or the fuelling will be all over the place. :)

powerflow isnt, never has been, and never will be a performance exhaust. take the BTB for example, you take your car to them for a custom exhaust, you can expect your car back in around a week to 10 days. why? because they actually take time over placement of boxes and exact bore, making sure the bore stays exactly the same even on bends. they even tune the exhausts using microphones iirc. powerflow can turn a full system around in 3 hours.... enough said. remap is around £400, the only person with the correct equipment to remap the standard ecu iirc is Wayne from Chipwizards. :)

I hear wot ur sayin sean but some people can't afford to be without their car for 10days and some people can't afford to splash out to have BTB fit a 'Proper' exhaust fitted, altough mine took nearer 5 hours :P but idid have my manifold fitted also!!! I don't like u sean u know too much :D:
