Hi all got another vts yesterday, been nearly fives years since i last drove one, still fun just not as fast as i remembered:n:
My vts is completely standard with only 61k on the clock.
Im looking to upgrade the induction kit, manifold and exhaust. Which are the best performance parts BUT are also quiet.
Im liking the look of completely standard but would like a bit more go but not loud and chavvy.
(sorry for all who have loud exhaust.lol. no offence but been there done that, only bought the vts as a cheap run about but have found a bloody good one):P

are you not looking for any kind of noise?
maybe a supersprint centre section with silencer would be good? i have on WITHOUT and it's nice and raspy and only on my furio. and some kind of manifold with sports cat but im not sure on any good ones lol.

I've heard piper are quite subtle. or you could consider a custom exhaust, longlife, power flow etc... But none of which are cheap

dont bother with a custom one.
What you need is the Supersprint mid silencer and KAM Racing backbox combination (http://www.kamracing.co.uk/citroen/citroen-saxo/saxo-exhaust/full-exhaust-systems/kam-racing-supersprint-race-system-citroen-saxo.html). Around 85 db which gives a sweet sporty sound but its not going to intrude too much in the cabin area.
Its not the cheapest but its not restrictive like many of the quieter systems on the market. Really to be quiet it has to have a centre silencer.

Kamracing does having a silencer restrict the exhaust in any way?

depends on the design. Our Supersprint ones are a straight through design and there is virtually no difference between that and the straight cut.
Other manufacturers might use other techniques to improve silencing such as reducing the bore to force gasses into the silencer wadding. This may reduce power.

anyone direct me to any video clips of a supersprint exhaust as mentioned by kam racing, just to try and get a idea of noise level?

so true.
I put a piper on a standard centre section. sounded lovely.
then put a supersprint in the middle, decat and removing the middle silencer.
Sounds amazing, round town it pops and bangs, under acceleration it sounds amazing.
motorway cruising - i want to kill myself. plain and simple. i can't turn my music up enough to drown it out, that's even with a sub etc.

90% of people fit the straight through version without silencer so even youtube (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=supersprint+saxo&aq=0&oq=supersprint+sa) is not much help. I guess you could listen to a clip, then turn your volume down 10% and listen again;)
You can trust me on the fact 85-86db is not horrible loud
