What is it holds the coil pack cover onto the cam covers on the JP4? Just got a set here and the holes seem tiny, is it just small self-tappers that should be used?

self tappers on jp4 cover

i hope you dont do many conversions for this on customers cars!
They do not leave the factory with screws of any description in place!
Why bodge a job when the parts to do it correctly are readily and cheaply available?

found some small cap heads that Ill cut down, tried one and it tapped itself. Cheers!

they have self tapping torx screws on JP4s and bolts on j4s, you seem to have a bit of an issue with almost anything i say, whats your problem?

in fact, tomorrow i'll take a few JP4 covers off and send you a few photos of the screws Citroen fit.

No problem, but as a so called expert you give out some dubious advice and have a rather limitd lack of knowledge on what your selling.
First thing you should have when selling anything is to know what it is and describe it correctly.
Take the 306 engine you had for example..
The jp4 covers have a threaded insert im them which take a standerd bolt of the correct size, i know that from experiance of supplying many sets of them here, 106oc and ebay.
I can read just fine thanks and have all the various service box pages saved down, look around service box and a bolt is describd as a self tapping screw many times, it down to the translation.
You go in to any enginering suppliers and ask for an m4 self tapping screw, they will firstly look at you funny and then say they can supply with an Mx bolt in what ever length you want, or a number x self tapping screw.
They arnt the same, much like a set screw and a bolt are very different yet similair, both of these come in Mx by what ever length but one has thread from head to base the other only a partial thread.
The actual cut thread on them can be the same. So they can both replace each other in most instances this is fine but not always, use a fully threaded bolt on a ball joint pinch bolt and you will soon have a warn bj pin.

so you still insist that JP4s don't have self tapping screws holding the coil pack cover down? Even though a link to Citroens official diagram has been posted? Ok,you're obviously correct and I have to bow down to your vastly superior knowledge lol, I'll just let the diagram do the talking now.

the picture 71 looks pretty much like what was one mine

In my rather limited knowledge, item 71 looks just like a self tapping screw, just like the ones that hold JP4 coil pack covers down.

lol, check the post below, talk about blowing your own trumpet, as for me being a french car breaker and repairer, yes i am, but its only my love of family life thats got me to give up a very lucrative career as an aircraft engineer which has enabled me to travel worldwide and buy everything i need inc a 5 bedroom house with no debt problems, now jog on,pack some bolts injiffy bags and just make sure they are the correct ones, seems you can't manage that from what some of our customers have experienced, Heaven help the defence industry, if you can't supply tow strap bolts of the correct thread

Read what i have said above!
You dont get m4 size self tappers!

have a l;ook at the proper pics how they describe nearly all the bolts, they are SCREW WITH BASE,are the rest of the cam cover bolts screws then?
You get m4 bolts, and the dimensions given on service box describe it as a bolt.
15 years of parts procurment for the military and automotive industries means i am highly trained in reading technical diagrams which are both supplied by the manufacturers of cars, plant machinery and weponry and then from suppliers quoting for supplying replacment parts.
Not only do they have to have the correct fit form and function they also have to be of a good enough quality to surpass the standerd replacment intervals.

But hey your the french car breaker and repairer so you carry on.
