This is just a query, I saw a 1.4 106 for sale and the gearbox is busted.. If I used my 1.1 gearbox anyone reckon acelleration wise I could keep up with a vtr?
I don't want anyone telling me about having to change ecu's, looms etc.. I know what I'm doing :)
Thanks

Are you sure you know what you're doing? You dont have to change the loom or ECU for a gearbox. Or is that sarcasm? As in, no you cant fit the VTR gearbox without having to remove your spare wheel?
It will improve accelaration.

doing this will make it nippier but you will loose top end, then again my 1.4 would only top out at 90mph lol..
I know why you put the comment about no stupid posts...
Every time I put a comment saying please dont talk about this. everyone talks about it ¬_¬

Db_saxo Im qualified to be a mechanic, I said because otherwise I will have people telling me everything else I need to do when switching to another engine ( I did mean to say that the 1.4 engine would be put in my car, not my gearbox on the other car :)
Slugshead: yours tops out at 90?!! I've had my 1.1 Saxo at 105mph on flat ground and was at 5thou rev, it just didnt have enough torque to get to 6thou lol
