When I start the VTR up, even when warm it kicks out a lot of fumes which smell very richly of petrol. Is there a period where the ECU has to learn which injectors are fitted etc? As i'm running a a straight through supersprint race pipe, decat and 4-2-1 manifold. I dont think its head gasket as it starts fine and revs up OK, oil could probably do with another flush to get rid of some of the crud from the previous head gasket failure but its not bad at all. Its also running the XSi 1.6 injectors in the VTR rail

Have noticed a slight drop in coolant but this maybe be down to getting the last bits of air out. Will test tonight

Saxos are quite well knowing for running rich, you could disconnect the battery for 30mins then reconnect. The car adjusts it's map slightly from what the sensors tell it so it will change it slightly to accommodate the mods you've done. It's not a remap! And you wont notice a difference really.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Tried to tonight revs up and starts fine its just kicking out a fair few petrol fumes at high revs. Battery has been off and on multiple times too so I'd say its adjusted itself, but I'm also thinking these injectors are much larger than the VTR ones so could be chucking in more fuel - it crackles and pops when you rev it up to even about 3000 revs and if you stand behind the car it will really stink of fuel.
