Hi all i have a mk2 vtr and the exhaust that is on there is just the mainifold then a pipe right down to the back box and the oil filter is the metal type.
The problem that i am having is that i have my mot next month. there is no cat on the car so what tipe of cat will i have to get.? Because if i have to get the one thats attached to the mani then the oil filter will be in the way.
Any help would be great thanks.:y:

Sounds like its a cross over, take it you got a single plug ecu??, in which case if you have then defo under car cat and you should be able to fit mk1 exhaust no problems

Not sure tbh, i thought all 3 plugs had cat in the manifold/downpipe assembly, you got any pics? and i presume its got a standard manifold on at the moment

Here is the pic of the maini i have and as you can see in the pic the bit of the exhaust and that runs as a straight pipe from there to the backbox and i know the bay needs tidying up but want get it throught the mot before i spend any money on the mods lol.

If there's no second lambda then i'd go for an early type cat rather than the manifold type, i got one for saxo_gray off ecp for about £40 iirc

No reason why it shouldn't, i'll get a photo of a mk1 cat so you can see if it matches up to you pipework if that would help?

Mk1 cat Left side is front that bolts up to downpipe, and right is where the olive and clamp attach to centre section

If you need a centre section they shouldn't be too expensive
