Usually it's just mapped off the tps ain't it? (alpha n) and not hybrid alpha n (with speed density).

Yes IIRC - MAP can cause issues with decent cams due to a potential strong vacuum therefore TPS is normally used. IIRC you can use Alpha-n and MAP also - map for idle and transient loads, and TPS for everything else.

good stuff two ross's, looking into bodies for the mx5 looks like the bodies I'm getting off shruggles have a dcoe type pattern which there is a manifold for. Just double checking as it seems like alot of the mx5 lot are going to alot of trouble to make a vacum chamber box thing and using speed density aswell. So looks like I can get a pnp ecu get the bodies on and have some decent mapping and happy days

diyautotune do a pnp ecu for them - then map using tps as load.
mapping and away you go !
