1.1 odd idle problem

Hi, Im currently having a problem with the idling on my car, most of the time its fine, but the odd time, it will rev itself to 2000 to 2500 revs and back to 1000 revs repeatedly, other times it drops so low the engine seems like it could stall

Any ideas what this could be? The last owner said it did it to her a few times and the other day i was in a car park and the car suddenly accelerated all on its own! This worried me slightly lol

sensor on the inlet mani mate :) get one form the scrappy :)

Mine does this too, it scares me lol I read on here the ICV just needs cleaning or replacing... I haven't got round to doing it yet so I don't know if it actually works :)

Im guessing the sensor im looking for is a 'MAP' or Manifold Air Pressure sensor?

i have this problem too seems common but i havnt done anything about it yet? have you managed to cure it

Nah mate still misfires a little, although I'm not too bothered about it now, I have decided that the Saxo is costing me far too much money so am going to be selling anyways

I would say its either the coil pack or the Idle Control Valve though
