ive got a 1.6 vtr, w-reg.
just put a new rad on and when ive filled it up and bled the air out the top hose is getting hot but the bottom 1 is still cold and the fan isnt cutting in even when the temp is in the red, ive had the hose on the rad so theres no blockage in there.
any ideas would be gratefully received.

It'll allow the cooling system to work properly. Sounds as it's blocked/not opening as the top hose was cold.

When you start up from cold, does it sound like there is running water?
Sounds like a air lock.

That's the first bleed point, when no air coming out of that then do the thermostat housing bleed point (allen bolt), when no air coming out of that then do the bleed point on the hose by the ecu, as this one is higher than the rad fill you need to use a header tank (put this on first) keep the header tank on until the fan cuts in 3 times. Did mine the other day and it took ages to bleed it properly.

That would do the trick.

all sorted chaps, it was the bleed nipple at back on the left hand side, the 1 like a dust cap, it was a massive airlock, got 2nd degree burns on my hand and up my arm to prove it too haha, got a couple ofdays off work tho, result.
