Suies 1999 106 GTi has a hole in the exhaust... on the joint directly before the backbox.
Shes thinking about buying a new/2nd hand cat back system for it.
If she buys 2nd hand... is the exhaust the same as the VTS?
The only diference I can think of is sometimes the 106 have different hangers on the rear box?
Can someone confirm if they are the same/different.
Im not 100% sure but I woould imaging they are but I always thought the back box was different as you have said.

As predicted, Suies backbox just fell off whilst going down the road. D'oh!
Im in a rush now, as off to a wedding in half an hour, but the backbox joint itself looks OK. The section of exhaust between the cat and the backbox... does that have a silencer in it?
Its been years since I had a std exhaust so I cant rememebr :err:
Im guessing for now I can just buy the pipe between the cat and backbox until she decides which aftermarket system shes after?
Not many places gonna have a pipe tomorrow though. :err:

Kwikfit say its a specialist part which they dont kep in stock.
Will have to try and find a window to nip to somewhere tomorrow and order/fit.
Bloomin' jury duty is gonna get in the way though :(

Sorted...
For future reference, Kwik Fit charge £79 for the centre pipe, including fitting :P
