yes its worth it if you want more power and torque, but depending on if your car is multipoint or singlepoint injection determines how much work it will be to put the engine in and make it work.

just remember with a bigger engine your gonna have to uprate your brakes so you also need all the axles and that from a 4 stud saxo plus you'd probably need all round disc brakes as well. New gear box, wiring loom etc. All of these would be seen as modifications to your car which will shoot your insurance straight through the roof. Your probably better off just buying a vtr for the amount it will cost in the long run

He'll need to do all of the above for the VTR aswell though but the insurance is the killer:
VTR = Group 7
VTS = group 14
Most insurance companies aren't that keen on conversion either.

i was considering a conversion in my 1.1 mate but it really aint worth it! sorry to burst your bubble but its probably better to sell up and get an actual VTR! you get the VT kit then aswell :P and brakes etc.
plus time labour and parts AND insurance will all add up on a conversion
