Hi,

I'm currently supercharging my VTS and would like some advice.
So far I have,

The charger: Rotrex c30-74 with oil cooler and bracket etc
Intercooler: off a 2011 Focus RS
Pipes etc to connect it up
266mm Tarox jap speed brakes with calipers (front only) With Goodridge lines

What I would like is for someone to recommend makes/models for the following (and also if ive left anything out)

ECU (remap or stand alone??)
gauges: temp and pressure of the chargers oil I would think are necessary any others?
Compression: I'm looking at a plate rather than pistons as my budget was only £2500 and its running out fast.
Air filter: From what ive seen from other peoples builds the filter is all the way over by the battery with a pipe going across the front of the bay (strait over the very hot and unprotected exhaust manifold, now I know the air going to pass through the intercooler but is that ideal? has any done/seen any other alternatives??

Now do I need anything else for it to run??

In the future once its running I will look at:

Gearbox?? Is it going to take the strain??
Cams?? looking at Cat-cams seem to be reasonably priced
Bottom end: is the crank going to survive??

Any help will be very much appreciated

ECU - without a doubt standalone..
Gearbox - depends on torque & how you'll be driving it like Twat or sensibly but quick
Bottom end - standard crank can take over 300bhp fine, pistons/rods will go first!

Gauges: Ideally AFR/wideband, oil temp, water temp, boost, oil pressure possibly (maybe more for turbo)
Compression: If it's running lowish boost decomp plate should be fine (turbo's running upto 250, even 330bhp on standard pistons/rods)
Other stuff: Map sensor? the map sensor saxo's run is 1bar (atmospheric pressure) as they only need to see a vacuum not boost, so you'll need a 2/2.5/3 bar map sensor!

as above really, i ran my rotrex with a gmc kit, mf2, sig con etc, but you can get much better results with a standalone unit, i would say go for omex 600 or dta. Both will need a loom making up but will run on your standard sensors.

you will get better results using bigger 491cc injectors and a better fuel pressure regulator 4bar, again gmc have them on their site.

you will also need a radiator as the neck on the filler obstructs the supercharger pipework, you can get a header tank from gmc or just use a small alloy PAS tank from corsa etc, then use a 106 diesel radiator as these dont have the silly neck, if your going standalone and route the ecu into the car, you can use the header for the 106 diesel which is big and sits in the same place of the standard ecu, so will keep it all looking standard, depends if you want to do it cheap or not.

compression wise, you can run a larger 1.9mm head gasket to lower it down a bit and be on the safe side, you dont need to run silly boost with a SC for good results.

gearbox wise, if your running over 200 - 220bhp you will need to upgrade to a BE box or just have a stash of ma boxes and drive shafts lol

for the be gearbox, your looking at a new clutch, box, gearbox mounts, hubs off a BE car, machined to fit in the saxo strut and also the BE shafts and a modified clutch cable, box wise, a 1.6 picasso box should do the trick :D
these are available from a few people, atspeedracing being the main one people tend to go for, for the off the shelf kit, but its not cheap.
