Are there any companies that supply and fit VTS engines to VTR's?
What prices are we talking?
Any information would be appreciated, cheers :y:

Mandyslover does it I'm sure, Jordysport, KrisB.
Theres 3 anyway Lol. Theres plenty more. As for price I've no idea.
However Irrc, KrisB will drop your existing engine etc out for around £100.. So theres something to go off roughly I guess.

They definitely can supply the engine aswell?
Thing is I don't really wanna risk getting the wrong engine/parts and it not working etc when it comes to fitting, much rather the experienced guys get all the right bits and fit it so it's guaranteed to work!

not alot of people on here that will supply aswell as fit. I dont think krisb supplies engines but he can fit them quite cheap. I think mandyslover supplies and fits.
Dont quote me on this though ^
any particular reason as to why you cant supply one yourself?

Pretty sure they could supply them too.
Mandyslover I'm 100% certain could anyway.

Reason being mine's a crossover year so it's a bitch in terms of loom and sensors etc, so I'd rather avoid the headaches of it all and get some other poor soul to do it :homme:

oh bugger, if you'd looked in for sale section you'd have seen we had a crossover conversion until last night, been reserved now though. Yes,we do supply and fit full conversions.

Crossover conversions are a bitch to find. if you can find someone who is confident with splicing looms etc you could probably find one easier, i've been looking for months and literally just found one the other night.

To be far he's just over 2 hours from me and i'm still going up to get it done :y:.
KrisB does conversions but you have to supply the parts. He charges £150 a day and says it is usually about 1.5 days for him since he doesnt brake saxos etc for a living like Mandyslover ;)

Fuck!!!!!
£850 for a vts conversion, man i wish i had known that 4 weeks ago iv just spent £500 on service bits, lower arms, manifolds, oil coolers cam belt, d-cat, polybushes, coilovers and a fuck load of other bits and bobs!
Would of happily shelled out the extra for an S lump!

Though the conversion for a cross over year was pretty simple and just knowing what plug you ecu is and just fit the correct conversion???

It's a MK1 engine setup with a single plug ECU but a MK2 interior setup with a different interior loom, MK1 VTS engine/ECU/loom won't be plug and play, and neither will a MK2 VTS engine/ECU/loom, unless it's a crossover year, V or W plate if I remember rightly.
OR, get a MK1 engine/ECU/loom and get the loom spliced to fit the crossover interior plug, but that's just extra money being tossed into it all.

Correct. X reg can also be used for a crossover, i think Y reg was the first one to be a proper mk2

Ahh right well I'm going from a 1.1 engine to a vtr engine so your theory wouldn't apply for me, would it!?
Karlb1
23rd November 2011, 10:19
If it's a crossover year it'll apply to any conversion. Even if it's just swapping a 1.1 engine for another 1.1 if you're swapping ecu and everything.
Apparently loom splicing is easy just takes time, but i'd still rather pay somebody to do it that knows what they're doing.
But like everybody said to me..cut the shit and 16v it.

16v for me on insurance means more pennies... and Nathan-HxC how much you want for your vtr lump and bits (sorry for hi-jack of the thread)
