Evenin'
Just swapping cylinder heads over and I forgot to unclip the bottom radiator hose so when I lifted the head the coolant seeped/gushed in to the pistons...
Can this just be dried out with towels? And once back together the oil changed?
Or do I need to do something else?
Cheers,
Dave.

change the oil to be safe. but the rings should seal against water, as you can measure them that way

You'r car get's worse :panic:
I wouldn't know what to do tbh...
Leave it to dry out for a few days? Try and towl it all out?
I'd drain the oil too.

I can't leave it for a few days, I need to dry it in the morning and put it all back together by lunchtime...
So the pistons are sealed, so a good towelling will be ok?

I wouldn't like to say encase i tell you wrong.
It wouldn't hurt towel drying it though. You'd had to change the oil though (It'll have water in) and when you put it all back together, run it for a week or 2 then change the oil + filter again. That should flush out left over water and any fibers of towel.

You do realise as soon as he fire's the engine up, Fuel is going to be set on fire over and over again. You think 'towel fibres' are going to last long? :clapping:

Nothing to worry about. Just make sure you have dried the tops out. I'd advise changing the oil when you have had the head off anyway. Make sure you do it now as some of the water could have got down the oil ways and past the rings.

As said this isnt too much of a problem just obviously dont leave the water in there if putting into storage etc. Also make sure theres no water in the head bolt holes this can cause problems with torque ratings and making things crack
