Cheers

well i do want mad power but it'd be nice to be able to control all the power. my mate did say the brake were a bit soft, any idea where to get a good set?

New discs, decent pads and a good bleed will see it stopping. Heck, my shit pads do well enough when warm

If you wan't 'mad power' then buy a faster car because a VTR is not fast.
Cheap power would be a manifold, decat and exhaust system
Then you are looking at cams + remap
Then maybe super/turbo charge
Cheapest mod is to stick a 16v engine in it and then modify that.

I won't be keeping it, it's just a cheap car to get me into tuning. Fed up of having a 1.2 that all noise and no go. Any ideas on a good place to get VTR parts?

dont listen to devil my vtr beats most things around my area. i have got a full powerflow system and 4 branch and its been cammed and super chipped. im saving now to turbo mine and i can kill all corsa 1.4s/1.6s and vts's i went to shakespare raceway a month ago and ran a 14.3. and i got proof!

I knew i could get good power. there's a place near me which will do a full turbo conversion to put out 180-200 and in a car that weighs 900kg as standard it'll still fly.

Shame about the poorflow/superchip.
Of course a modified car will be quicker. Put a set of cams in the 16v engine and it will hammer the cammed 8v.
If you want good power and stay NA then the 8v is like pissing into the wind (unless you want to spunk tons on a very high spec sandy brown race engine).

hahahahahahaha
I literally lauged out loud when I read this!!
You are the definition of chav dude, I hope you pay through the nose for insurance!
OP - I did answer your question, to get decent power out of the 8v you need to look at Turbo/Supercharged imo.
Camming will give it some more power but not as much as sticking in a 16v engine......then you cam that combined with decent breathing mods and you could be talking 150bhp+.

headworks meant to get you good gains on the 8vs
failing that a 1.3 Rallye head, ecu, loom and inlet.
quiksilvers/1.4 saxos make 110+bhp with that not sure what vtr would make with it

no proof but in the 4 years ive been on 106owners "rallye head on quiksilver" has been asked 1 miillion times lol and whenever people ask how much power it will be the knowldgeable engine tuners say around 110bhp with breathing mods.
im also sure there was a blog on SSC of a guy running the rallye head etc on his 1.4 saxo and made 120 ATF.

Cant really fathom those figures when the standard 1.6 rallyes and xsis are about 103 bhp, even with breathing mods I'm not sure they'd make 120 at the flywheel
